About Dra. Yadira Rivera Espinoza
Dra. Yadira Rivera Espinoza, former director of the National School of Biological Sciences (ENCB) of the National Polytechnic Institute, is a biotechnologist, entrepreneur, researcher, and academic at the Interdisciplinary Professional Unit of Engineering Tlaxcala Campus (IPN). Her commitment to the Mayan community arises from the direct call of the founders of the Pixan Chenes cooperative, who invited her to put her knowledge and her proposal 'Love for the Community' (presented to the Presidency of the Republic during her tenure at the ENCB) at the service of the Mayan communities.
Within the framework of the Social and Solidarity Economy Promotion Node (NODESS), the program From grandparents we learn, with young people we start businesses from school, designed by Dra. Yadira Rivera Espinoza, emerges. The program will begin in October 2025.
The program will start with students from the communities of Suc Tuc and Xcupil, strengthening intergenerational bonds and promoting sustainable local development.
Its objective is to strengthen intergenerational learning, promote community entrepreneurship, and provide preparation for project management according to the needs of each Mayan family.
