About Dr. Yadira Rivera Espinoza

Dr. Yadira Rivera Espinoza, former director of the National School of Biological Sciences (ENCB) of the National Polytechnic Institute, is a biotechnologist, entrepreneur, researcher, and academic at the Interdisciplinary Professional Unit of Engineering Tlaxcala Campus (IPN). She has contributed to the training of hundreds of students in Biochemical, Biotechnological, Artificial Intelligence, and Data Science Engineering, in addition to supervising master's and doctoral theses in sciences. With her experience, she has promoted innovative projects that link science and entrepreneurship with social impact.

Her commitment to the Mayan community arises from the direct call of the founders of the Pixan Chenes cooperative, who invited her to put her knowledge and her proposal “Love for the Community” (presented to the Presidency of the Republic during her tenure at the ENCB) at the service of the Mayan communities.

The Program

The program 'We Learn from Grandparents, We Undertake with Young People from School,' designed by Dr. Yadira Rivera Espinoza, emerges within the framework of the Social and Solidarity Economy Promotion Hub (NODESS). The program will start in October 2025.

Beneficiary Communities

The program will begin with students from the communities of Suc Tuc and Xcupil, strengthening intergenerational ties and promoting local sustainable development.

Program Objective

Its objective is to strengthen intergenerational learning, foster community entrepreneurship, and provide preparation for managing projects according to the needs of each Mayan family.
