Pixan Chenes is a Maya cooperative that protects the jungle, cares for bees and builds a dignified future for our communities.
Pixan means 'soul' in the Maya language and Chenes refers to the wells of our region. We were born in 2020 with the conviction that, from the community, we can change our destiny. We are five Maya communities working together to defend life, culture and the future of our people.
We want our Maya communities to live with dignity, without abandoning their land or culture. We dream of a sustainable development model where tradition and innovation walk together. When you get to know Pixan Chenes, you will feel the heartbeat of a people that resists, cares and stands firm.

We honor all forms of life and protect our Maya cultural heritage, keeping alive the sacred connection with mother earth.

We believe that true progress is only possible when everyone has the same opportunities to grow and prosper.

We foster the active participation of all voices in making decisions that affect our common future.

We build bridges of collaboration and mutual support between communities, strengthening our network of solidarity.

We protect and regenerate our ecosystem, practicing a harmonious relationship with the nature that sustains us.

We defend the right of every person to live with honor, respect and the necessary conditions for a full life.
These values are not just ideals, but are reflected in each of our daily actions and community decisions. They are the heart that beats in every project and the compass that guides our work.

Our values guide every choice we make as a community, from the smallest to the most transcendental.
Every initiative we undertake is imbued with these principles, ensuring coherence between what we believe and what we do.
We work so that these values are the legacy we leave to the next generations of our Maya community.

The cooperative is led by indigenous Maya women, who head the organization with commitment, wisdom and vision. They are the heart of the project and an example of transformation from the collective.
We have constituted the cooperative, articulated NODESS together with IPN and other institutions, and developed innovative projects such as an application for honey collection management. These alliances have strengthened our productive and organizational capacities.
In 5 years we dream of being a model community of development with identity, exporting products with Maya traceability, leading in reforestation and carbon bonds, responsible tourism, community biotechnology and transformative education.
Institutions such as the National Polytechnic Institute, Suc Tuc Community High School, Fertile Land and the Xcupil Comisariado, among others, accompany and strengthen our path.

We want those who visit us to participate actively: acquiring our products, buying environmental certificates and thus supporting reforestation and community development.
